What you should say: before doing

This is just one example of a general rule that causes problems for students – If you use a verb after a preposition, that verb must be in its ‘ing’ form.

Before going, after doing, instead of sleeping, fed up with seeing….

 

You should brush your teeth before going to bed. – Deberías lavarte los dientes antes de ir a la cama.

Think before speaking. – Pensar antes de hablar.

Before travelling around Asia, you should get your shots. – Antes de viajar por Asia, deberías ponerte las vacunas.
