Usar correctamente en inglés Finally (al final)

What you should say: in the end, at the end.

This can be a confusing concept for students at first. We use ‘finally’ to say that something was overdue: the pizza has finally arrived.

We use ‘in the end’ to say that something was the result or outcome of a situation: We didn’t know where to go on vacation, but in the end we chose Thailand.

‘At the end’ means the last part of something that has a defined beginning and end: At the end of film, everybody applauded.

In the end, it worked. – Al final, funcionó.

We always ask questions at the end of the class. – Siempre hacemos preguntas al final de la clase.

You finally had your hair cut. – Por fin te has cortado el pelo.
