Usa correctamente la preposition ‘By’ en inglés


Students sometimes use ‘by’ incorrectly, as they always use it to translate ‘por‘.  In English, it can be used to mean ‘near’ or ‘next to’ (which are different!), ‘no later than’ or talk about the mode of transportation we use.  We also use ‘by’ to talk about who the author of a work of art or book is.


I think Scream was painted by Munch.  – Creo que El Grito fue pintado por Munch.

They live by the river. – Viven cerca del río.

Why did you come by bus?  – ¿Por qué viniste en autobús?
