Brighton Fringe: The coolest festival makes a nice reading

Porque no todo en Inglaterra es Londres… hoy te proponemos un viaje a la ciudad de Brighton y el Fringe Festival. Sigue leyendo y pon a prueba tu inglés.

Brighton Fringe.

Are you free in May and June and planning a vacation? I took a page out of Nell’s book (no pun intended) and decided to take her advice on visiting the beautiful city of Brighton. And boy, am I glad I did! In case you guys didn’t already know, I’m a HUGE arts and entertainment fan and make an effort to visit as many of the local shows and exhibitions as I can.

This is one of the most interesting art festivals I have attended. Instead of it being in just one place, it can take place in any venue or location… a coffee shop, the artist’s apartment, a sex shop…virtually ANYWHERE. Pretty interesting, huh? The artist puts on an “event” and these can range from walking tours, to sketch comedy shows, to a photography exhibition, to a show. The festival takes place for about a month, and every days brings you new and different artists and events. I wasn’t bored at all! (I just wish I could have stayed longer…)

The most important characteristic is that there is something for everybody. If you like theater, there are events for you; if you enjoy music, there are tons of performers too! (I think I saw Passenger when I was there!) This past year there were over 500 events, so there is a lot to see and do. If you yourself are an artist, this would be really fun to participate in, and a great way to show off your work!

Like the international and diverse city, the Brighton Fringe festival features artists, actors, and musicians from all over the world. This is actually England’s largest arts festival; something to definitely tell everyone about! It will be taking place in 2015 from the 1st to the 31st of May, so make those plans and book your tickets!
